Third-party credit cards are only accepted if the cardholder has authorized or agreed to cover all charges on behalf of the renter. RCM will not be held responsible for any misuse of third-party cards by the hirer.

RCM has transitioned to fully cashless payment methods. Cashless payments refer to transactions made without the use of physical currency. These payments are conducted electronically, typically through payment card transactions.

RCM will only accept credit or debit cards for payment transactions made through our website. Bank transfers, QR payments, and e-wallets are not accepted.

Certain payment instrument companies charge their member banks a fee for processing "foreign transactions." If you make card transactions and the recipient uses a bank located in a different country from the one that issued your card, an international service assessment, cross-border transaction fee, or similar charge may apply. Your issuing bank may choose to pass this fee on to you (the card user). For more details, please contact your issuing bank, as this is beyond the control of RCM Companies. In the event of payment instrument fraud or unauthorized use by third parties, you should contact your bank or card issuer immediately upon discovering the unauthorized activity. If you suspect that an unauthorized or fraudulent booking was made through RCM, please reach out to our Customer Service team right away.

Important

To make a booking, you must be over 21 years old (or the age of majority in your country or territory) and possess the legal capacity to complete the transaction (or have authorization from your legal guardian). You confirm that the credit or debit card you are using is your own, or that you are authorized to use it for this booking, and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the transaction. You accept financial responsibility for all transactions made in your name or account.

Article 12 : Acknowledgement

You confirm that the information you provide when making a booking is completely accurate. RCM Companies reserves the right to decline certain payment instruments and may add or remove payment methods at its discretion. To enhance convenience, RCM now offers the option to securely store your payment instrument details on file. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

We have robust fraud detection and prevention measures in place. In some cases, we may require additional information or verification to validate your booking, as detailed on our website. Reservations are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email with a voucher, and it is possible for a booking to become unavailable during the fraud check, in which case the reservation will no longer be valid. RCM cannot be held liable in such instances. Any additional information provided will be handled according to strict industry standards to ensure privacy, utilizing encryption for data transmission and specialized agents for verification. If you choose not to submit the additional information, or if we are not satisfied with the provided details, the booking will be canceled, and any amounts charged (including any applicable verification fees) will be refunded.

Article 13 : Payment Condition

On RCM's website, we encourage renters to make full payment when reserving a vehicle. However, if a renter opts for a 25% payment, we will charge the remaining balance to the authorized credit/debit card before or upon delivering the car. Renters must ensure there are sufficient funds in their account. In some cases, we may also require an additional cash security deposit before or at the time of picking up the car.

Article 14 : Cards Full Authorisation

Full authorization involves charging a specified amount to your account. This process requires obtaining customer approval for a transaction, typically identified by an alphanumeric or numeric code, before the transaction is completed using a card.

Article 15 : Consent For Full Authorisation

To finalize payment for prepaid rental bookings, including delivery charges, pickup fees, or any other applicable charges, you authorize the relevant RCM Companies to charge your credit or debit card for the full amount. This may occur without a refund option, depending on the rental booking conditions (see details below), upon reservation and confirmation of the booking, at the time specified in the confirmation email.

To process payments for post-paid charges, including defects, summons, and any other applicable fees, you authorize the relevant RCM Companies to charge your Payment Instrument for the full amount. Please ensure that your Payment Instrument is valid and has sufficient funds on the designated payment date. If we are unable to charge the Payment Instrument for any reason, we reserve the right to manually invoice you and require full payment.

Article 16 : Word About Failed Payment

Payments on the site may fail for various reasons. In these cases, RCM will provide you with alternatives to help secure your reservation. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Customer Service department.

Article 17 : Extending Rental

If you wish to extend your rental, please contact us as soon as possible, and no later than the end date and time of your rental agreement. Additional days will be charged at "pay at location" rates, depending on the number of days you want to extend. Your full authorization will be updated to include any expected additional costs, and you must use the same payment card used for the original authorization. You may need to visit the rental location to sign a new rental agreement and/or provide an additional payment card for the updated authorization.

If you fail to return the vehicle and are more than 5 hours late, your rental will be extended. You will be charged for an extra day's rental at the current "pay at location" rates, along with a late-return processing fee for each full or partial day until the vehicle is returned.

If you do not return the vehicle at the agreed date and time, you will be in breach of contract and will forfeit any damage waivers, excess reduction products, or insurance coverage. This means you must provide proof that any damage, loss, or theft occurred before the agreed return date to benefit from these protections. We will take necessary steps to locate and recover the vehicle, which may include reporting it as missing or stolen to the police or providing your details to a repossession agency. Additionally, we will charge your payment card a daily rate for the vehicle until it is returned.

Article 18 : Vehicle Condition Minor & Major Defects

All our vehicles are maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommended standards and will be roadworthy at the time of pick-up. Any existing damage, aside from minor wear, will be noted in the contract.

Minor defects, as mentioned in the accident, damage, and other charges clause, will apply. Your pre-authorization will be adjusted to include any expected additional costs, and you must use the same payment card with sufficient funds. You may need to visit the rental location to provide an additional payment card for the pre-authorization.

You agree that the information you provide when making a booking is entirely accurate. RCM Companies reserve the right to refuse certain Payment Instruments and may add or remove payment methods at their discretion.

Article 19 : Minor & Major Accident

If the Hirer intentionally or unintentionally causes damage to RCM vehicles, they are always responsible for paying the excess, which can be reduced according to the clause on collision damage waivers.

You must notify us within 24 hours if the vehicle is involved in an accident or damaging event, even if no third party is involved. If the vehicle is lost, stolen, or damaged, you are required to pay the excess stated in this rental agreement, along with any applicable taxes or our damage or theft processing fee, unless you have purchased additional waivers to further reduce your excess.

Article 20 : Prohibited Acts

Your excess will not apply if the loss or damage results from your intentional or fraudulent actions, omissions, or gross negligence. At the time of the accident, we will charge you an amount based on whether you purchased a Collision Damage Waiver or not. You authorize the relevant RCM Companies to charge your Payment Instrument for the full amount. You are always responsible for compensating the company for losses or the full cost of repairs or damages, which will be estimated based on the number of days required to repair RCM vehicles. Rental rates are subject to RCM's review and approval.

Article 22 : Delivery & Pickup Fees

For delivery or collection outside of our business location, an additional charge may apply depending on the distance, accessibility of the destination, and time of day. Details about the charges and procedures will be provided at the time of inquiry. If there are any changes to the agreed location, additional charges will apply. Article 25 : Hirer's Responsibilities

The Hirer agrees to be responsible for repairing or replacing damaged, lost, or stolen items with new original parts at current market prices, plus labor costs, during the rental period. Consequently, the hirer’s deposit will be forfeited. Potential incidents may include the following:

Hirers must always ensure that the vehicle’s water temperature remains at a normal level. If the hirer experiences overheating or a rise in temperature, they should stop the car immediately in a safe area and contact our response team. For long-distance driving, hirers should regularly check the water level and add water as needed, as well as monitor the engine oil of the rented vehicle.

Failure to notify RCM of any damage or potential issues may lead to a breakdown, including significant damage to the engine, transmission, or suspension. The cost of repairs will be the hirer’s full responsibility.

In the event of major damage to RCM vehicles that necessitates claiming compensation from the Insurance Company, the time spent on the claim and arranging repairs would result in losses for RCM.

Accidents or damage apply only to collisions between two moving objects. Any damage that occurs while the vehicle is stationary will be the hirer’s full responsibility and subject to the aforementioned excess and excess protection.

Article 26 : Liability For Compensation

If the Rental Car is unavailable for use by the Company due to an accident, breakdown, or other issues caused by the Renter or the Driver during the rental period, the Renter shall pay the Company the specified fees as compensation for business interruption for the duration the Rental Car is unusable or during the repair period.

In addition to the obligations outlined in the previous paragraph, the Renter shall be responsible for compensating damages if they violate any articles, rules, special provisions of this Agreement, or other terms and conditions. The Renter will also be liable for damages incurred by a third party or the Company resulting from the use of the Rental Car due to actions attributable to the Renter.

Article 27 : Collision With Third party

Should the hirer meet with an accident and be hit by the third-party driver, the hirer must inform RCM immediately. In any condition that the car cannot be driven, damaged and may result in a suffering breakdown, there will be no replacement car provided to the hirer. However, should the hirer wish to have a car replacement, that hirer must agree to bear all cost of replacement including new rental car, delivery charges or any other cost applied to RCM for delivering the car to the hirer.

For the above clause, the accident penalty will not be imposed if the hirer is found not guilty of causing the accident with the third-party driver. This clause is valid and applicable only if the police report indicates that the hirer is not guilty of such offenses.

However, if the hirer is found guilty of such offenses, RCM may provide the hirer with an insurance replacement car under the Accident Car Replacement (ACR) policy.

Article 28 : Loss Of Use

RCM reserves the right to seek compensation for future revenue losses resulting from an accident that disables a vehicle. The hirer is always responsible for covering these compensation costs, which are estimated based on the number of days required to repair the RCM vehicles. Rental rates are subject to review and approval by RCM.

Article 29 : Windscreen Damages

Article 30 : Accident Car Replacement Third party

Hirers have the option to purchase an Accident Car Replacement (third party) waiver, which covers all replacement costs incurred if the hirer is involved in an accident with a third party. This Accident Car Replacement Waiver covers the following:

If the hirer causes major damage to the windscreen, including the front mirror, rear driver-side window, left rear window, or back mirror, whether intentionally or unintentionally, RCM reserves the right to charge the hirer the full cost of replacing the windscreen.

For replacements, RCM may provide any available car type based on the booking schedule. The replacement vehicle may differ in color, brand, model, or engine capacity (CC).

However, the Accident Car Replacement option is not available for purchase during peak or festive seasons (public holidays in Malaysia). We reserve the right to cancel the Accident Car Replacement even if the hirer has already purchased this waiver at the time of reservation.

Upon receiving the replacement car, the Collision Damage Waiver or any other excess protection purchased for the original vehicle will not apply to the new replacement car. Hirers will need to purchase new excess protection.

Article 33 : Special Perils Coverage

Standard rental car insurance does not cover losses or damages caused by natural events, such as floods or storms. In most states, if the car is damaged due to natural perils, the hirer is financially responsible for the full value of the car at the time of rental, minus its salvage value. This responsibility also includes towing, storage, and impound fees, as well as any diminution in the car's value as assessed by RCM, an administrative fee, and a reasonable charge for loss of use.

However, hirers may purchase special perils coverage as an additional protection to the rental car.
